The Jetsons

Disney and Warner Bros. may be the most recognized producers of animated films, but there are many other studios who have also had an influence on the art.

In terms of total characters created, no studio can even come close to Hanna-Barbera. It is estimated that they are responsible for over two thousand different characters, from Fred Flintstone and Yogi Bear to George Jetson and Jabber Jaws. Hanna-Barbera has a very aggressive art catalog, and the collector has a wide range of art to choose from: Sericels, Limited Editions, Original Production Cels and many Other types of art, most signed by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera.

Types of Hanna-Barbera Art:

Limited Editions

Limited edition artwork featuring Hanna-Barbera characters and films. These are hand-painted cels, typically in edition sizes of about 500 pieces.

Lithographs and Giclees

Limited edition artwork featuring various characters and cartoons from Hanna-Barbera Studios. These paper prints are many times signed by the artist, and are typically created in edition sizes of about 250 pieces.

Original Production Cels

These are original, one-of-a-kind cels featuring Hanna-Barbera or Cartoon Network characters and shows. These are hand-painted cels, and were actually used in the production of a cartoon.

Sericels

Limited edition artwork featuring Hanna-Barbera characters and films. These are hand-painted cels, typically in edition sizes of about 1000 pieces or more.
